Activities in and around Kalkan:

Day cruises: Ferry from Kalkan’s small yacht harbour to the wonderful,
hidden Kaputas Beach and onwards to a swim in the
incredible colors of the Blue Cave, the largest sea cave in Turkey. If
you’re lucky you’ll spot the nearby dolphins or have freshly harpooned
fish for lunch.

Patara National Park and Beach: Patara’s stunning 12 km-long
beach was
voted one of the top beaches in the world by Times Online. The park
includes the
ancient site of Patara,
the major naval and trading port of
ancient Lycia. An extensive city with many ancient structures,
including what may be the world's oldest lighthouse, it is a key
biodiversity area, with rich birdlife and the protected breeding ground
of the endangered loggerhead turtle.

Pinara: One of the most spectacular sites in Lycia. A large red cliff
dominates the site and hundreds of caves dug into its East façade make
it look like a honeycomb.

Xanthos/Letoon:
UNESCO World Heritage Site. The sacred cult centre of Lycia. Three side-by-side temples to
national deities Leto, Artemis and Apollo

Tlos: best-known for the Ottoman feudal lord’s castle which sits on the
top of the promontory with a spectacular 360° view of the Xanthus
Valley. Also Roman era baths and necropolis with its carved house and
temple type tombs.

Kekova-Simena: An area with beautiful scenery and underwater ruins
accessible by boat.

Hiking: The Lycian Way is a 509 km way-marked footpath around the coast
of Lycia, rated by the Sunday Times as one of the ten most beautiful long distance hikes of the world. Mild
temperatures mean it can be walked through the winter.

Horse Riding at Bezirgan: The
authentic Turkish village of Bezirgan comfortably nesting
on an ancient mountain lake bed 17 km. away from Kalkan is a MUST.

Saklikent canyon: Half an hour from Kalkan is a canyon accessed by a
spectacular narrow foot path suspended from the a rock wall. Rafting
also available.

Shopping: Kalkan has 2 main markets open everyday + a traditional
bazaar is available every Thursday. Markets also available at Fethiye.

Swimming: available
from a pebble beach at the base of the hills near the villa, or in Kalkan from tiny decks set
on the sea. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world
are neaby along the
coast.

Scuba Diving
/ Snorkeling: arranged by professional divers departing from the Kalkan
harbor.
